LUA Scripting Capabilities
Jeti Pilot Peter Vogel was playing around with the new LUA Scripting ability of V4.2 Firmware update. His app allows for a warning if you arm your plane with a discharged flight pack.
Here is why he decided this was a helpful application:
While it *is* possible to get the same functionality from the native features of the radio, it burns a sequencer and several logical switches. It’s even more complicated to do if you have an ESC with a BEC and you use a separate RX backup pack as many of us flying competition do! As an added bonus I added the ability to have it announce the model name when the TX is powered up or a model is selected. While this is ostensibly a distinct function it seemed silly to burn another one of 10 script slots just for announcing the name of the model.

Jeti Transmitter Firmware 4.20 Featuring LUA Scripting Now Available!
Enjoy the new V4.20 Transmitter Firmware update with LUA Programing Enabled for the DS/DC-16 transmitters.
What is LUA? Lua is a powerful, fast, lightweight, embeddable scripting language. LUA combines simple procedural syntax with powerful data description constructs based on associative arrays and extensible semantics. LUA is dynamically typed, runs by interpreting bytecode for a register-based virtual machine, and has automatic memory management with incremental garbage collection, making it ideal for configuration, scripting, and rapid prototyping.
How do you use it? Basic setup is easy. You write an application (script) and put that to SD-card. After that the application is run in your selected model. This means you can have different scripts running on different models.
For example you can have constantly updating telemetry-data, make and use graphics and images, use telemetry and voice in a new fashion, you can access SD-card with LUA and so on. This ability has opened up a whole new world to making your transmitter and its functions really “Your Own”.
Warning: After updating your radio to version 4.20 it is no longer possible to downgrade to an older firmware. Downgrade to 3.02 version is however still possible!!!
